My career started as a health educator with a holistic perspective on wellness and training in both nutrition and personal training.  In addition, I am certified as a Trauma and Tension Releasing Exercises (TRE) provider and as an instructor of The Breathing Class. Currently, I am completing the requirements to teach Trauma Recovery Yoga (TRY) to be certified as a 200-hour Yoga instructor.

As a therapist and health educator, I will work with you to devise a plan to meet your goals using everyday language. My patients and clients have told me they feel comfortable with me as I am approachable and (most) enjoy my sense of humor.

In the years I have practiced as a psychologist, I have noted that many people are interested in a range of holistic therapies and approaches but are still determining where to seek these services. This is what led me to establish Connect Therapy & Wellness. I believe strongly in the many ways that mind-body connections can help us heal and be happier.  Connect Therapy & Wellness not only offers psychotherapy services but also offers other types of healing.  Coaching is also available as people often need support when working toward their goals.

Psychologist/Health Educator

A fantastic group of people working with me are also passionate about holistic approaches to healing and helping people be happier and healthier.  Together, we are Connect Therapy & Wellness.

As a psychologist, I help people understand the automatic thought patterns that impact perceptions, emotions, relationships, and lives. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. As a result of that struggle, I began to ignore what was happening in my body and focused on my thoughts. Then, in 2019, I broke my foot — and had difficulty using crutches with my 250-pound-plus body. As I looked at getting older and the likelihood of more mobility issues (as well as blood sugar and high blood pressure), I realized that I needed to focus more on my body, and I embarked on a personal journey of the mind-body connection. Throughout this journey, I have learned that my body is more than a storage container for my mind. The body has its patterns associated with tension, fear, and trauma. Therefore, working on our thought patterns and building better connections between mind and body is crucial. We can work with our bodies to reset our nervous systems, reduce emotional upset – and even limit or stop our minds from spinning.
